Logistics Manager

Cleveland, OH

$110k – $125k

Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure efficient storage, accurate order fulfillment, and timely transportation of products from facilities to customers and distribution centers. The ideal candidate will bring experience in inventory control, logistics coordination, regulatory compliance, and overall supply chain optimization.

Logistics Manager Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory: Manage 2 operations managers and warehouse and shipping department, providing direction, support, and performance oversight.
  • Facility Management: Oversee warehouse layouts and storage requirements to ensure efficient use of space and accurate inventory control across multiple facilities.
  • Logistics Planning: Develop and maintain logistics strategies to support timely and cost-effective transportation and distribution of products.
  • Shipping Operations: Manage shipping activities, including scheduling, carrier coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate with production teams, and manage inventory processes to maintain accuracy, support demand, and reduce excess.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all logistics and shipping operations meet applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with shipping vendors and carriers to optimize service and cost efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to logistics, inventory, and shipping processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor logistics and shipping personnel, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, IT, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align logistics and inventory strategies with overall business goals.
  • Training: Develop and oversee training programs to support onboarding and skill development of logistics and warehouse staff.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze key performance metrics to assess operations and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Packaging: Collaborate with internal teams to establish packaging standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Managing international shipping requirements and leading an associated regulatory compliance project in 2025
  • Assist in finalizing daily shipments and manage the daily product flow

Logistics Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum of a completed Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field required; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5 to 10 plus years of prior experience in logistics and shipping management/supply chain required, preferably within the chemical manufacturing or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous materials regulations, shipping laws, and compliance requirements specific to the chemical industry.
  • Experience with European & Asian regulatory and compliance requirements strongly preferred
  • Experience in both domestic and international shipping requirements is required
  • 80-85% shipments will be LTL domestic
  • Remaining 15-20% will be international (shipping containers, air freight, etc…)
  • Strong technological proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and Power BI strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with energy, assertiveness, and professionalism.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, product development, and regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, OSHA).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Regularly required to use hands, fingers, voice and hearing
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands arms
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel or crouch
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk up/down 3 flights of stairs throughout the day
