Job Description

Hand & Stone Franchise Corporation is currently seeking a Corporate Spa Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead and perform full-cycle talent acquisition for our 15 corporate owned spas in Florida and New Jersey. This role is pivotal in ensuring we attract and retain top-tier professionals who embody our commitment to wellness and exceptional service.​

This role is hybrid working out of our suburban Philadelphia office 3 days a week, 2 days remotely. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in recruitment, preferably within the spa, wellness, retail, or hospitality industries.​
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting is required. Experience working with licensed individuals a plus.
  • Must have proven experience sourcing hard-to-fill roles, where the demand is higher than the supply of candidates. Experience with creative solutions to find candidates.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.​
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and HR databases.​
  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously and meet targeted deadlines.​
  • Comfortable spending 80% of workdays on the phone or via Teams talking with candidates.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to spas in Florida and New Jersey, estimated to be 10%.

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to source qualified candidates for various positions, including licensed massage therapists, licensed estheticians, spa managers, regional operations managers, and spa associates.​
  • Maintain and update recruiting tracking reports in Excel.
  • Owns and manages applicant tracking system (ATS). Utilize ATS for reporting and tracking candidates throughout the process.
  • Manage ATS, including adding users and fully utilizing system for efficiencies to handle high-volume recruiting.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with spa managers and operations leadership to understand staffing needs and align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.​
  • Conduct regular manager training on interview protocols and onboarding procedures.
  • Presents to operations managers and leadership weekly on recruiting progress and suggestions.

Candidate Sourcing:

  • Utilize multiple channels such as job boards, social media, industry events, and professional networks to build a robust talent pipeline.​ Attend school job fairs and information sessions to promote working at Hand & Stone and to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Ensure job postings are updated frequently, as needed for exposure and candidate applications.
  • Sponsor job ads as needed, based on market needs and budget. Adjust strategy daily to manage costs and applicant flow.
  • Respond to applications within 24-48 hours.
  • Utilize Indeed (and other tools) resume search to source qualified candidates.
  • Build relationships with schools to attract potential candidates.
  • Occasionally represent the company at career fairs and job expos. Deliver presentations to students on job expectations, benefits, and career opportunities.
  • Manage sponsorship applications, reviewing resumes and essays, verifying applicant eligibility, and tracking active sponsor students.
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for future hiring needs.
  • Support hiring managers with recruitment-related requests.

Interviewing and Selection:

  • Conduct pre-screening interviews and assess candidates to ensure they meet the qualifications and align with Hand & Stone's values and culture.​ Once screened, spa (hiring) managers will interview recommended, screened, and qualified candidates.
  • The Corporate Spa recruiter will spend approximately 80% of time on the phone (and/or video as needed) talking with applicants and screening candidates to pre-qualify them for hiring managers.
  • Verify licenses for Massage Therapists (LMTs) and Estheticians (LEs) before interviews.

Onboarding Support:

  • Coordinate with HR and spa managers to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience for new hires.​
  • Submit Employee Verification System (EVS) for new hires.
  • Assist in onboarding, including background checks and IT setup. Facilitate IT requests and onboarding processes for new managers.
  • Provide managers with interview guides, background authorization forms, and Employee Action Forms.
