Job Title: Tax Accountant

Location: Milwaukee, WI 53202

Hybrid position - 3 days onsite. Days are flexible for being onsite.

Job Type: 5 months contract with possibility to convert permanent

Pay range: $28-$31/hr

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the maintenance of tax records and the preparation of tax returns and related reports for an assigned area.

Files federal, state, or local tax returns.

Develops and maintains tax strategies to minimize tax liability.

Prepares taxable income projections, financial statements, and specialized accounting reports.

Assists with tax return audits and compliance reports.

Prepares and develops reports for management or for regulatory authorities.

Responds to inquiries regarding tax accounting policies, procedures and problems from bank management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Maintains adequate accounting and control for an assigned area.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience

• One to two years of related work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting degree preferred.

• CPA certification or candidate a plus.

• General understanding of legal, regulatory and accounting principles in investment management industry a plus.

• Flexibility with work hours as required in supporting the clients’ needs.

• Demonstrates ethics and integrity, adhering to USBGFS’ core values and holds others accountable for upholding ethics and values.

• Is a team-oriented professional, interacting collaboratively with team members and others throughout the organization.

• Shows initiative, including eagerness to work on projects, with the ability to communicate with all people at all levels.

• Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
