Senior Bridge Engineer (Technical Lead) – Bridge Design

Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid Work Model)

Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 annually

Position Summary:

The firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to serve as a Technical Lead within their Orlando office. This role will focus primarily on bridge design, overseeing and mentoring a dynamic team of 7-8 junior engineers. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and coaching capabilities to ensure successful project delivery and continued development of team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead bridge design efforts for FDOT and other major infrastructure projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with all relevant standards and specifications.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach a team of 7-8 junior bridge engineers, fostering technical skill development and professional growth.
  • Review design calculations, drawings, and reports for quality assurance and project compliance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and clients to deliver innovative and cost-effective bridge solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and support throughout all project phases, from conceptual design through construction support.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the bridge engineering group.
  • Participate in resource planning and assist in scheduling to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of bridge design experience, preferably with FDOT projects.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of bridge design codes, standards, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office and remote work effectively.
