Payroll Administrative Assistant (Temp-to-Hire) Location: Freeport, ME (100% Onsite) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Are you a detail-oriented payroll or accounting professional looking to grow with a company that values hard work, collaboration, and continuous improvement? A growing company in Freeport is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrative Assistant to join their finance team. This is a newly created role due to company growth, and there is flexibility for the position to start as temp-to-hire or direct hire for the right candidate. About the Role: This position supports all payroll functions for various job sites, to include subcontractors and vendors. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or tax-related functions and be ready to grow with the organization. Key Responsibilities: Process payroll for approximately 50 full-time employees Coordinate payroll and billing for 50–100 active subcontractors Link payroll data to specific projects Handle time-consuming and detailed reporting via specialized project software Manually reconcile and manipulate payroll data between platforms as needed Support project managers with job costing and subcontractor time tracking Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate payroll and accounting workflows Tools & Software: Timberline/Sage (Accounting) Paylocity (Payroll) ProCore (Project Payroll Tracking) What We're Looking For: ~2+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or taxes ~ Strong attention to detail and accuracy ~ Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment ~ Comfortable communicating with individuals from various backgrounds ~ A proactive mindset with accountability and integrity ~ Strong Excel skills and familiarity with construction or project-based accounting a plus Work Environment: Onsite in Freeport, ME Casual, hardworking, and collaborative company culture Brand new office space with modern amenities, including an on-site gym Opportunities for professional growth as the company scales About ProSearch ProSearch, Inc. was established in Portland, Maine, in 1994 to provide companies with a full range of search, staffing and contracting services, specializing in the functional areas of information technology, accounting and finance, sales and marketing, customer service, human resources, and office support utilizing a consultative approach.
