Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Williamsburg, Virginia is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
You’ll be responsible for overseeing agronomic operations, with a strong focus on team development, project execution, and member satisfaction. Expected to be heavily involved in the day-to-day operations and activities of golf course maintenance. This position reports directly to the Director of Agronomy. This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic, visionary agronomic leader to make a lasting impact at a resort with momentum, resources, and a team-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all aspects of golf course maintenance including turf management, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Lead, mentor, and develop assistant superintendents and crew — building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
• Ensure accurate, efficient application and recordkeeping of fertilizers and pesticides.
• Collaborate with leadership to align agronomic priorities with member expectations.
• Implement operational systems that ensure safety, efficiency, and transparency.
• Schedule maintenance practices to optimize course conditions while minimizing disruption to play.

Requirements:
GCSAA membership preferred.
3–5 years of experience as a superintendent or assistant superintendent at a private club, resort, or high-end daily fee facility.
Degree or certificate in turfgrass management or related field.
For-profit or private/semi-private golf course experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Virginia pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Experience with 5S facility management is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and agronomic recordkeeping tools.
Compensation:
$90,000 – $110,000 per year.
