Job Description

About Us:

The Newtown Business Association is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting local businesses, fostering community connections, and hosting signature events that celebrate Newtown’s vibrant culture.

Position Overview:

NBA is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Events Manager to support the planning and execution of our signature events, networking programs, and member-focused activities. This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative community environment and has a passion for event management. This role requires a strong local presence; candidates should reside in or near Newtown, Bucks County (closer than Philadelphia) to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics and execution for NBA events, including Welcome Day, the Antique & Classic Car Show, and other annual events.
  • Manage event timelines, checklists, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with permit applications, venue bookings, and on-site setup.
  • Work closely with the Administrator, Board Members, and Committee Chairs to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Support event promotion in collaboration with marketing volunteers (via newsletters, social media, and the NBA website).
  • Track attendance, prepare recap summaries, and contribute to post-event evaluations.
  • Serve as a backup for the Administrator and Committee Chairs, particularly for smaller events if needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in event planning, nonprofit or association work strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with volunteers and community partners.
  • Flexible availability — must be present for some evening or weekend events.

Hours & Compensation:

  • Approximately 12 hours/week (may vary depending on event schedule).
  • This is a contract (1099) position with competitive hourly compensation.
  • Reports to the NBA Board President and Event Committee Chairs

How to Apply:

To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through LinkedIn with your resume and a brief note of interest. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
