The Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort & Lookout Mountain Golf Club is located in North Phoenix, near Paradise Valley and Scottsdale. Nestled on 230 acres against the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, the resort offers a scenic, mountainside setting with a full range of high-end amenities. In addition to its 585 spacious all-suite accommodations, the property features extensive dining options, including the award-winning hilltop restaurant, Different Pointe of View, perched 1,800 feet above the Valley of the Sun.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee all property maintenance operations at our hotel/resort. This leadership role ensures the safety, functionality, and appearance of the property by managing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, capital projects, and a dedicated engineering team. You’ll play a key role in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, keeping our guest experience at the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee building, systems, and grounds maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Lead, schedule, and manage the engineering/maintenance team
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs using Hilton/Aimbridge systems
• Ensure compliance with safety, code, and brand standards (AIMSAFE, OSHA, etc.)
• Coordinate vendor work, inspections, and equipment servicing
• Manage department budget, inventory, and project timelines
• Contribute to capital planning, renovations, and long-term property improvements
• Maintain thorough documentation of repairs, inspections, and safety procedures
• Actively participate in hotel Safety Committees and brand-led initiatives
• Serve as a hands-on leader and liaison for ownership, vendors, and senior leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 5+ years of hospitality-centric engineering/facilities experience in a similarly sized resort
• Prior leadership experience required; hotel or resort background preferred
• Licensed in a trade (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, safety codes, and systems management
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and facility tracking systems
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Must be calm under pressure and capable of working independently
• Familiar with AIMSAFE or similar compliance programs
