A significant part of this role involves leveraging advanced Excel skills to analyze complex financial data, model scenarios, and generate critical reports. Furthermore, the Director will ensure strict adherence to government contracting accounting regulations (e.g., DCAA, FAR, CAS), overseeing compliance and audit readiness. You have a profound understanding and practical experience with government contracting accounting principles and compliance. You excel at fostering cross-functional collaboration with departments like Contracts, Purchasing, and Human Resources to ensure seamless financial operations and accurate data flow. You are adept at leveraging financial data to drive performance improvements, implementing best practices in accounting, and leading complex financial projects (e.g., system implementations, audit preparations). You thrive in a dynamic environment where you can provide strategic financial guidance, mentor accounting professionals, and contribute significantly to the achievement of overarching business objectives by ensuring precise and insightful financial support for the teams driving revenue.

  • Extensive and proven experience with government contracting accounting, including a deep understanding of DCAA audit requirements, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), indirect rate structures, and cost-plus contract accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing all aspects of the accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial consolidation systems, Onestream.
  • Demonstrated success in streamlining accounting processes, implementing financial controls, and improving efficiency within the accounting function.

  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex accounting or finance-related projects (e.g., system upgrades, audit readiness).
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to accounting functions is a plus.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a strong focus on financial integrity, compliance, and providing actionable insights to support business growth.
