JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Specialist – Digital & Social supports the Kentucky Lottery Corporation’s Media & Digital Team through the management of the organization’s organic social media presence, paid media strategy, and organic messaging. Promotes and elevates awareness of KLC products and initiatives, explores social trends, and engages with diverse audiences to promote relevance and brand. Establishes and builds rapport with external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Develops and executes strategies for all organic social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube, including content creation, community management, and engagement tracking. Develops monthly content calendars for posts in alignment with brand standards, product objectives, and KLC organizational pillars. Continuously analyzes platform performance data and engagement metrics. Provides feedback and recommendations for optimizations to increase brand and product visibility and followers.

  • Plans and develops content in alignment with marketing goals, brand messaging, and customer engagement strategies. Ensures content is timely, relevant, and supports overall campaign goals. Explores social trends, identifying emerging platforms and looking for new opportunities to elevate KLC's message in a way that is relevant for organization’s diverse audience and brand.

  • Supplies creative materials for upcoming promotions in a timely fashion and serves as an integral member of Media and Digital team. Manages digital giveaways and promotions adhering to policies and procedures. Identifies new promotion opportunities for social media and digital extensions in accordance with department budget.

  • Tracks social media performance through analytics, preparing reports that outline key performance indicators and ROI on social media and vendor engagements.

  • Partners closely with internal Digital, Product, Sales, and Public Relations teams to create product content aligned with organizational goals and initiatives. Works closely with external agency and media vendors collaborating on social trends, optimization, and messaging to ensure integrated campaigns and alignment across all channels.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, advertising or related field preferred; related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum two years’ experience with social media management, content creation, media planning, customer relationship management (CRM) marketing, digital advertising, and/or communications preferred.
  • Experience with HTML or other web languages/software preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Must be able to convey messages clearly, persuasively, and with appropriate tone and style.
  • Ability to research and analyze information and data to arrive at valid conclusions. This includes root-cause analysis, to build recommended corrective action plans.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CRM, and social media platforms. Knowledge and experience with project management systems and analytical tools a plus.
  • Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must possess creative thinking skills, be adaptable to changing situations, and understand diverse audiences.

Salary Range: $52,836 Minimum - $65,994 Midpoint .

Our goal is to pay a competitive market salary for new employees, which is typically up to the midpoint of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills and internal pay equity.
