Job Summary

Verizon Implementation – Construction is seeking a Construction Engineer with experience in small cell and macro cell deployments . This role is responsible for managing embedded base upgrades, optimizations, and ensuring construction activities meet company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage upgrades and optimizations for embedded base sites.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for cell site builds and determine appropriate equipment placements.
  • Place equipment orders and manage general contractor services.
  • Review and approve closeout packages and complete project closeout procedures.
  • Provide engineering-level support during equipment installation:
  • Perform initial site walks.
  • Verify power and floor space availability.
  • Ensure adequate power facilities, ground stability, and construction access.
  • Collaborate with Sub-Market Engineering teams to determine RF needs and address structural and environmental factors.
  • Work with MTCE and Area Teams to ensure Standards compliance.
  • Perform routine construction inspections and ensure environmental/safety guidelines are followed.
  • Coordinate installation and integration of all cell site equipment.
  • Act as a point of contact for construction, power, and grounding vendors:
  • Manage vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Create and distribute bid packages.
  • Evaluate and award bids based on cost, quality, and project timelines.
  • Project Management:
  • Chair pre-construction meetings.
  • Establish schedules and timelines for equipment delivery.
  • Review construction schedules and propose process improvements.
  • Attend internal meetings and communicate project timelines and milestones.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform Close-Out Package (COP) reviews and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Transition completed sites from construction to operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in construction engineering or telecom infrastructure.

  • Change order management.
  • Contract management.
  • Client relations.
  • Field service quality control.
  • Procurement and logistics.
  • Proficiency with:
  • PeopleSoft, FUZE, Tableau, QuickBid, and Ericsson tools.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
