Job Description

Position Summary:

The Associate Product Developer supports the end-to-end product development process for apparel categories from concept through production. This role works closely with design, sourcing, technical design, and vendors to ensure product quality, fit, cost, and on-time delivery goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the development of seasonal apparel collections by coordinating samples, tracking development milestones, and managing data entry in PLM systems.
• Collaborate with Design to understand product intent, materials, and construction techniques.
• Partner with Technical Design to ensure fit and construction integrity through the sampling process.
• Communicate daily with domestic and international vendors regarding sample status, testing, pricing, and production timelines.
• Track and manage sample submissions (proto, SMS, PPS) and maintain sample library.
• Assist in costing and margin analysis to meet target prices and profitability goals.
• Maintain product information and BOMs (Bills of Materials) in PLM systems accurately and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate wear tests, lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and approvals with cross-functional teams.
• Support sustainability and compliance initiatives through materials and vendor alignment.
• Attend fittings and cross-functional meetings; take notes and follow through on action items.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Textile Science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in apparel product development, sourcing, or technical design.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrications, and production processes.
• Proficiency in PLM systems (e.g., Centric, FlexPLM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Understanding of global sourcing and apparel supply chain a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with overseas vendors (Asia, Central America, etc.).
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and tech pack creation.
• Passion for fashion, sustainability, and innovation in product development.
