JOB SUMMARY

The candidate will be an integral part of the Affiliates & Institutional Sales and Trading Desk at Bci Securities. They will be responsible for making sure trading processes and procedures, established by the firm, are followed and in compliance with industry regulations. The Candidate will be assisting with Trade execution, as well as assisting in institutional and corporate client account onboarding and providing support, ideas, solutions, troubleshooting and backup support to other members of Bci Securities. Requirements are that they have strong Bloomberg, Excel, PowerPoint, analytical and communication skills as well as a high degree of general experience/knowledge/expertise regarding financial products. They are also expected to have some experience in portfolio construction and security selection. The position requires qualities of versatility, adaptability and most importantly problem solving.

Trading Execution & Product Support Bci Affiliates

The candidate will be providing trade execution services and product support to registered representatives of Bci Retail Affiliate. This includes and not limited to providing execution (fixed income, equities, options, mutual funds), trade ideas, Product offering lists, aggregation of available market inventory, interpretations of corporate actions to RRs, assisting in trade error corrections and approvals, process improvements and systems integrations, participation in client calls and follow ups, as well as aggregation and dissemination of market research. 

 

 

Institutional & Affiliates Sales and Trading 

This candidate will be assisting First VP Affiliates & Institutional Sales and Trading

As a sales-trader role by which they will be assisting covering institutional clients and Affiliates of the desk. They will assist by interacting directly with this client segment with the aim of obtaining trade flow and generating a profit for the Desk. They will also assist in finding and extracting more business opportunities from the existing client base. They will also be expected to provide support and coordination with Operations and Compliance regarding the onboarding of new clients and maintenance of records.

 

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

 

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Assist with onboarding institutional clients all the way to completion
  • Maintenance and Improvement of product offering lists for Bci Retail Affiliates & Institutions
  • Updating maintaining internal administrative records of the Desk (Trade Blotters, Client rosters)
  • Aggregation and dissemination of available fixed income inventory to Institutional and corporate clients
  • Assist in Trade Execution and Product support 
  • Assist Institutional Client coverage (sales & trading)
  • Assisting in trade idea generation, security selection and analysis, and presentations
  • Proactive interaction between Compliance and Operations
  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish
  • Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees 
  • Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position 
  • Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed) 
  • Travel as required 
  • Provide coverage for other positions as requested 
  • Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management 

 

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In the performance of  their duties, all Bci - Securities staff members are required to comply all state, SROs and federal regulatory and legal requirements. All staff members must comply with in the Bci Securities and Bci’s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics and other policies of Bci which are either currently in place or which may become effective during the staff member’s employment.

 

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

COMPUTER:

Ability to operate computers; fluency with Microsoft Product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Bloomberg 

 

EDUCATION:

University degree (BBA, BS,BA)  

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

SIE

Series 7

Series 63 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2+ years work experience in investment management or financial services industry, preferably with strong exposure to capital markets (brokerage, investment banking).
